Welcome to our website – a convenient place to find information and horticultural advice, whether you garden in the shadow of Victoria’s Parliament Buildings, the shadows of the North Shore mountains or somewhere in between. Our staff gardeners have a wealth of practical advice and garden tips based on their experience in their own West Coast gardens and look forward to sharing these with you on the web, by telephone, or in person on your next visit to one of our neighbourhood garden centres. Click on the “contact us” button on the navigation bar above for contact information or locations of each of our six garden centres.
On the BC Coast we are currently fully entrenched in a “classic” coastal winter – dull, cloudy days with our fair share of rain, but with temperatures staying above freezing. Despite this, a visit to one of our garden centres is worthwhile. Lose track of time browsing the seed racks, with 2012 flower and vegetable seeds arriving throughout January.
Longing for spring already? Colourful primroses and potted bulbs, gently persuaded to bloom early, are irresistible & provide a much needed mid-winter pick-me-up. Discover the winter gems - witchhazel, hellebores, Himalayan sweetbox, skimmia and more - shrubs and perennials that save their most attractive qualities for those adventurous souls willing to brave winter conditions.
For those dreaming of more tropical conditions, we have a fresh offering of foliage tropicals, locally sourced and ready to add beauty to your home or workplace, with many on sale for the month of January and with some fabulous new additions to our selection of pottery we make it easy to refresh your home décor! Click here for details on our January Tropical Sale.
If do you find yourself with a spare moment this January, please stop in for a visit. We’d be delighted to host you as our guest. In the meantime, we wish you health, happiness and success in your garden in 2012!
